Chocolate Pie

2 cups milk

3/4 c white sugar

3 T corn starch

2 T cocoa

Dash of salt

2 egg yolks

Butter, size of an egg

1 t vanilla

Scald 1 ½ c milk

Mix sugar, corn starch, cocoa and salt.

Add ½ c cold milk and mix well.

Add 2 egg yolks

Add to scalded milk and stir over heat until thick.

Add butter and vanilla.

Pour into cooled pie shell.

(Mother used the same recipe for Butterscotch Pie by omitting the cocoa and using dark brown sugar!  I use these all of the time and make it crustless and put in custard cups.)

If there is anything better than
chocolate candy, it is chocolate pie!

My Daddy, Froud Wilkinson, would never read a book unless it was true.  Well, Daddy, this is all true.
