Joseph Peck and Lena White Ellis moved to Bear Creek in January of 1920.

The Ellis family bought the farm from W. Henry and Katie Johnson on January 14, 1920.

Skillet Cake

2 cups plain flour

3 tsp baking powders

½ tsp salt

½ cup butter, melted

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

2/3 cup milk

Combine all ingredients and mix well.

Pour into a buttered skillet and bake in 350 degree oven until the edges pull away from the pan.

Serve hot with butter, the only way Winford liked cake.
