Ed and I were on a test run of traveling alone to join friends in Alabama.
Usually there were two or three trailers as we went riding, but now it was "you and me, babe."
If this turned out well, maybe we could go west next year even if we couldn't get
anybody to go with us and we had to go all by ourselves. We needed to know how it would be with just us and our horses.
Our first day took us to Georgia, just a little bit south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The next day we arrived in Troy, Alabama, at Heart of Dixie Trail Ride in southeast
Alabama.
We returned to Hayneville, Alabama, just a little southwest of Montgomery.
We parked our trailer at the home of our friends for a couple of days at their home while they got their trailer lights repaired.
The Wilsons and guest traveled with us to the next ride at Cherokee Trail Ride
in northwest Alabama.
Then we all went on to a short drive through Mississippi and up to Natchez
Trace, just west of Nashville, Tennessee.
Going toward home we stopped and rode a day at Mammoth Caves in Kentucky.
